About Melisa:

Hello! My name is Melisa, and I am a Marriage and Family therapist dedicated to creating a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges while building healthier relationships with themselves and others. My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and experiences. I strive to help clients feel comfortable, understood, and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.

Education:

I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nevada Las Vegas I recently earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University and have developed a strong foundation in evidence-based and systemic therapeutic approaches. My education and clinical training have prepared me to support diverse populations across various settings while emphasizing empathy, collaboration, and client-centered care.

Experience:

I have experience working with children age 5-14 and families in both school-based and mental health settings. My background includes working as a school counselor, where I supported children, adolescents, and families through emotional, behavioral, academic, and social challenges. I also have experience working with individuals navigating substance use and addiction-related concerns, providing support through empathy, accountability, and individualized care.
As a bilingual therapist, I value creating accessible and culturally responsive services for diverse communities. I am passionate about helping clients develop insight, strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and build meaningful change in their lives.
