About Desiree:

Desiree Carrillo, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Intern in Nevada, has been practicing professional counseling for four years. She is currently pursuing a PhD in psychology with a focus on cognition. In addition to her counseling work, Desiree is also a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Nevada, specializing in substance use for six years. She is certified as a Domestic Violence Counselor in the state as well, with six years of experience in this field. 

Passionate about her work, Desiree is dedicated to helping clients heal and develop self-sufficiency and self-efficacy by focusing on their personal strengths. She approaches counseling with compassion, demonstrating empathy and understanding.

 

Education:

Desiree has earned her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona in 2018. Desiree has continued her education with Grand Canyon University for her PhD. Desiree earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2014.

 

Experience:

Desiree has extensive experience working with various organizations such as Parole and Probation, Court, DUI’s, and CPS. Her work with children and adolescents includes addressing issues related to divorced families, suicidal ideation, self-harm, bullying, self-esteem and belonging, abuse, conduct disorder, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD. She has also worked with adults dealing with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, depression, life adjustments, adult and childhood trauma, grief and loss, suicidal ideation, anger issues, relationship issues, legal matters, and self-esteem challenges.
